The New Moon - its significance and meaning

The meaning of a new moon is different for every individual. Further, each and every new moon throughout the year has a different effect on that exact same person. Why?

Because each and every portion of the zodiac has a distinctly different energy. These different placements (or lunar mansions as they are sometimes called), have been observed over centuries and expounded upon by ancient Vedic teachers. When a new moon is inhabiting a point in space that coincides with a natal placement, there is an energetic chord that resonates between you and the energy of that particular new moon. It invites within you - a new beginning. It opens up a void in that area of your life that is ripe for something new. For example, if the new moon is taking place at 16 degrees of Leo (Sidereal zodiac) and your natal Mercury is at 15 degrees of Leo in your 10th house - then the universe is supporting a new direction in your career to take hold. This would be focused in the area of computers, and overall communication with others. As it happens, the natal chart for my business has this exact placement! I feel motivated and encouraged to communicate more than I have before about Vedic astrology. I am taking advantage of this energy and making good use of it tonight by writing this blog post! In addition, Leo is the 3rd house in my natal chart. I have a new sense of courage and the will power (3rd house matters) to get this done now.

You know, astrology is such a helpful tool that can help us work with the energy and divine timing of the Universe in our every day lives. This is why I value it so much, and why I want to share it with others!
